In 2021 I played the first Umpio live sets in 4 years. Before that my last noise gig was in summer 2017 at Mynämäki church with Mesak and Jukka Hautamäki. I went through a wierd time of having nothing to give which felt like a few weeks. And then there was the lockdown thing.

The thing in Pori was recorded on 3.July by Rasmus Östling at Kohereeri club at the abandoned radio station on the outskirts of town. I opened up for Felicity Mangan, who is an Australian sound artist and composer based in Berlin.

The thing in Tampere was on 26.November at Hervanta Must Die club at Varjobaari. On the bill were also Tyhjä Pää, Mogao and Kolumbia. Some dude was so happy that he threw a beer glass past my head.

These recordings are quite different from the usual studio trickery and represent the slow growing monolithic turbulence of a live set.
